Tom was an active member of the American Legion on both the local and state levels throughout the time that he was employed by both the city of Plano and the county of Collin.

He participated in the operations of the Legion on both the local and national levels. In addition to that, he was an active member of the American Legion for a considerable amount of his life and contributed to the operations of the organization throughout that time.
