Marlene Glickman Obituary, Death, Funeral And Visitation
Marlene Glickman Obituary, Death Cause – It is with deep sorrow that we must notify you that on May 28, our President and fellow creative, Marlene Glickman, died away unexpectedly at her home. She was an early member of our Guild and a pivotal figure in the formation of the organization we now call our Guild. She was a whirlwind of energy, and she taught all of us how to operate in an artistic capacity like a seasoned expert. She patiently instructed an uncountable number of students, served as a guide to an even greater number of others, inspired everyone who was in need of it, and was the Guild’s most active recruiter.
Her one-of-a-kind works have been shown at venues located in every region of the world. She held the Representative position for Color Hue Dyes, as well as Dharma Trading, and Steam a Seam. She has been profiled in a variety of periodicals devoted to quilting and fiber arts, one of which is titled Quilting Art. And for many years, she has been responsible for organizing our booth and advertising the Sewing Expo. Marlene is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the art of textiles, and anybody interested in the subject may learn from her.
She was kind and generous toward others, and she was always ready to lend an ear to anybody who needed one. Without her, both the Fiber Industry and the Tampa Bay Surface Design Guild will never again achieve their previous levels of success. Because of her, our lives have been enriched, and we promise that we will never forget her. Her infectious chuckle is something that will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service is going to be planned by the family. There will soon be an invitation sent out to all of the Guild Members.
