Thomas Orr Obituary, Death Cause – On Saturday, May 27, 2023, Thomas K. Orr Sr., who was 80 years old at the time of his death, slipped away from this world and into the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ. Orr was born on January 13, 1943 in Kenmore, Ohio to William and Christina (Shaw) Orr, both of whom have now passed away. Tom had spent his entire life in the general vicinity of Doylestown, Barberton, and Clinton.
He worked for Northwest Schools in Canal Fulton for 20 years, during which time he held the positions of Bus Coordinator and Mechanic until taking his retirement. Over the course of the previous 16 years, Tom was a devoted member of the Barberton Bible Holiness Church, where he worked as both an usher and a greeter. Pamela (Hixson) Orr, Tom’s beloved and dedicated wife of 60 years, and their fur baby Dino are the only ones who will remember him after his passing.
His children, Thomas Orr Jr. of Ewing, Virginia, Christina Orr of Barberton, Andrew (Melissa) Scruggs of Canal Fulton; granddaughter, Kennedi Orr of Ewing, Virginia; grandsons, AJ and Logan Scruggs of Canal Fulton; brother to Lois Polefko (deceased) of Barberton, Wilma (Earl) Sears of Wadsworth, Betty Hornbeck of Norton, William “Harry” Anyone who knew Tom well was aware of the fact that he took great interest in the appearance of his lawn.
There was no such thing as a weed, and there certainly was no such thing as a dandelion. In point of fact, his pals would secretly mail him packets of dandelion seeds when they wanted to surprise him. On rare occasions, one of them would turn up solely for the purpose of wandering around the yard looking for dandelions. He cherished his role as a grandfather. His face would light up whenever one of his grandchildren called him on FaceTime, and the experience would bring a smile to his whole family’s face.
