Sheldon Lavin Obituary, Death Cause – Throughout the process of constructing local supply chains, Sheldon “Shelly” Lavin, a famous entrepreneur and businessman in the food sector, has served as an inspiration, a role model, and a mentor to me. During my time at OSI Group, I had the opportunity to learn from this guy and put his vision into action all across the globe. He was bigger than life and had a significant influence on the local economies of the places he did business as well as on the lives of the individuals he hired.

As he frequently quipped, “we should have been paying him for the opportunities he afforded instead of the other way around,” and he is correct in saying that this is how things should have been done. I am really grateful to have been given the chance to work with him. Shelly, may you live forever. Sheldon Lavin, a devoted father and successful entrepreneur, died away on May 26, 2023 in his home in the Highland Park neighborhood of Chicago.

He was the cherished husband of the late Sylvia Lavin; loving father of Debbi (Ira) Rosenberg, Steven (Dawn) Lavin and Jerold (Holly) Lavin; proud grandfather of Amy (late Brad) Chaimson, Shauna (Daniel) Freedman, Michael, Alexander, Austin, Ethan, Spencer and Sophia Lavin, and great grandfather of Leo, Evan and Simon Chaimson and Elana and Sarina Freedman; caring brother of Berenice (late Paul) Pink; loving brother-in-law of Marilyn Rakowsky.

On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at one o’clock in the afternoon, a funeral ceremony will be performed at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El, which is located at 1175 Sheridan Road in Highland Park, Illinois.
