Peter Haskey Obituary, Death Cause – We are sharing the news of the demise of our dear dad, grampa, and uncle with heavy hearts and lovely memories of each of them. Peter was the Haskey family’s youngest member and was preceded in death by his older siblings Mary, Natalie, Nicholas, Annie, Paul Peter, Stella, Paul George, Anne, John, and William. He was the last of his siblings to pass away. His daughters Barbara (Peter) Duncan and Lynne (Haruo) Abe, as well as his five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, will miss him terribly.
He ultimately decided to retire there in 2003. His retirement in Southampton presented a number of opportunities for him to form friendships within the neighborhood. Peter contributed to the revitalization of Chantry Island in his role as a volunteer with the Marine Heritage Society (MHS). He put his love of gardening to good use by improving the grounds at Pioneer Park as well as a number of other gardens located throughout the city, notably the gardens located at St. Patrick’s Church.
He also leaves behind two great grandchildren. Maria and Paola di Paolo had a very close relationship with Peter as their uncle.Peter was a man who lived his life to the fullest and with purpose. First and foremost in his life was his love to his family, and next came his faith, followed by his community. As a commercial sheet metal technician, Peter left his stamp on the urban landscape of downtown Toronto during the course of his working life. In 1968, he came to Southampton with his family on a camping trip, and he immediately fell in love with the picturesque lakeside town.
