Lowell Hunt Obituary, Lowell Hunt Has Sadly Passed Away

Lowell Hunt Obituary, Death cause – Galatia resident Lowell Alan Hunt, age 63, died away on May 28, 2023 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was accompanied by his family at the time of his passing. In Harrisburg on June 5th, 1959, Alan was brought into the world by his late parents, James Lowell Hunt and Mamie Floy (King) Hunt. The couple tied the knot on June 4, 1982, and Brenda Allen is still living in Galatia. After a long career at Coca-Cola, Alan took early retirement and took a job managing a Dairy Queen in Marion. After that, he was employed by Schwan’s Consumer Brands, where he helped with their pizza line, and then he spent some time working for Continental Tire. Alan was a highly involved member of Lebanon Church, where he served in several capacities, including as an Elder, a teacher in the Sunday School, and as the Sunday School Superintendent.

Along with his cattle and chicks, he took great pleasure in bushhogging on the farm and going on hunting expeditions in search of raccoon, rabbit, and squirrel. Formerly a member of the Southern Illinois Corvette Club, Alan has left the organization. He was respected both in the community and among his peers. Alan is survived by his wife, Brenda; son, Brent Hunt and fiancée, Julee Thorne of Eldorado; daughter, Brittany Hunt and Glen Collins of Eldorado; grandson, Brendon Hunt of North Carolina; grandson, Britton Collins of Eldorado; sister, Sheila Hunt of Harrisburg; brother, Stephen Hunt and wife Donna of Harrisburg; and niece, Jamie Marie Hunt of Harrisburg. All of Alan’s close relatives reside in Harrisburg.

Alan was predeceased not only by his parents, but also by both sets of his grandparents: his maternal grandparents, Abner and Bertie King, and his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Iva Hunt. Funeral services for Lowell Alan Hunt will be place at the Stricklin Funeral Home in Harrisburg on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:30 AM. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Robert Abbott, and the interment will take place in Lebanon Cemetery. On Saturday, June 3, 2023, the Stricklin Funeral Home will be open for visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM (local time).
