Brendan Cooney Obituary, Death Cause – Brendan Cooney is an experienced veteran of the VALE club.
The Salisbury United Football Club is currently experiencing a state of great sadness as a direct result of the demise of Brendan Cooney Sr. In the late 1970s, Brendan participated in our amateur competition. Brendan is now the parent of former SUFC players Stephen (a player and life member) and Brendan Jnr.,
both of whom played for the club. After being with the club for a little over three seasons and scoring more than 40 goals during that time, he was a crucial member of their teams that won the titles for the 4th and 3rd divisions. He was with the club for a little over three seasons. Because Brendan was such a well-liked person in the football communities of Salisbury and Elizabeth, everyone who knew him will feel a great sense of loss as a result of his demise.
This is because Brendan was so well-liked in these towns. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ann, Stephen, Brendan Jr., and Paula, as well as the rest of Ann’s extended family and friends. Our hearts are shattered for all of you. We ask that you accept our deepest condolences in this time of loss. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, at noon, at St. Augustine’s Church, which can be found in Salisbury near the intersection of Commercial Road. A reception will be given in the clubrooms of the Playford Patriots immediately after the conclusion of the service.
