Michael Ruyak Obituary, Death Cause – The family of Michael E. Ruyak, Jr. wishes to convey their deepest condolences as they share the news of his demise on May 26, 2023. On January 27, 1943, Mike was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, making his age at birth 80 years. His mother, Mary (Skrovina) Ruyak, his father, Michael E. Ruyak, Sr., and his brother, Stephen Ruyak (Nov 2022) have all passed away before him. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
After earning his diploma from Central Catholic High School, Mike enlisted in the army so he could serve his country. Following his time spent in the military and his education, he began working for IBM in 1964 as a Customer Engineer in the Field Engineering Division. He held this position until his retirement in 2003. Mike was very involved in community service. From his adolescence till the day he passed away, he stayed active in the scouting organization. After returning from his time spent serving in the Army, he took over as the Scoutmaster for Troop 50 at Sacred Heart in Allentown. Previously, he had been a member of the troop. He served the Trexler District of the Minsi Trails Council in a variety of positions, and he was actively associated with Troop 31 in Old Zionsville for a good number of years. In the world of Scouting, he was both a participant and a member of the Wood Badge staff.
After moving out to the Emmaus region, Mike and his wife Rosemarie “Rosie” (Tiwold) Ruyak became members of St. Ann’s Parrish. Their wedding took place in 1972 at Sacred Heart in Allentown. They were blessed with two boys as a couple: Michael E. Ruyak, III (who passed away on March 19, 1988), and David Ruyak, who is currently married to Erin (Martin) Ruyak. Cecilia and Benjamin are Mike’s two grandchildren, and he is also survived by his nieces, his goddaughter Kimberlee (Leonard) Rodriguez, and a large number of other relatives and friends.
