Lydia Perillo Obituary, Death Cause – In Loving Remembrance of an Admired Woman Who Was a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Owner of an Iconic Restaurant. Lydia “Ann” Perillo, a respected member of our community, has passed away. She leaves behind a legacy that will be indelible in the minds and hearts of all those who had the honor of getting to know her during her lifetime. On May 25, 2023, our community remembers a magnificent woman who had a profound impact on the lives of numerous people through her roles as a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as an esteemed business owner of a restaurant.

Joe and Eddie’s Restaurant became an esteemed institution in the community very fast, and it continues to draw people from far and wide. Delicious entrees, soups, and desserts were cooked by Ann’s skilled hands, and it was a location where families got together, friends caught up with each other, and new friendships were forged over the delicious food. Ann’s commitment to the company and the people who patronized it clearly distinguished her from the competition, even more so than the daily promotions that she offered.

Ann was born on May 20, 1945, and spent her childhood in Atmore, Alabama. However, she eventually made her way to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where she worked as a server at a small eatery named Joe & Eddies. It was there that she met Gerard J. Perillo, the man who would later become her adored late husband. Their trip would lead them on an unbelievable experience over their entire lives, during which they would start a family, establish themselves as pillars in the community, and construct a legendary restaurant over the course of more than 62 years.
