Kristine Darling Obituary, Death Cause – Christine Darling Maven, who was a resident of East Rockhill Twp., Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, while she was a patient at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her age was 45. She was married to John R. Maven at the time. She was the daughter of Thelma “Jane” Darling of Holland, Pennsylvania, and the late Russell Brown Darling, Jr., and she was born in Abington, Pennsylvania.
She received her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1991. She graduated from Council Rock High School in Newtown in 1986 and went on to earn her degree there. She has 12 years of experience working as a physical therapist, all of which were spent at the Visiting Nurses’ Association at St. Luke’s. Prior to that, she held positions at LifeQuest in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania.
She was an active participant in the Holland, Pennsylvania congregation of The Church of the Good Samaritans. In addition to teaching in the church’s Pioneer Club program, Christine gave her time to serve as a Girl Scout Leader. She was a fan of being outside and enjoyed activities such as horseback riding and water sports, particularly water skiing. She had a passion for music and played the French Horn; in addition, she was a member of the Pennridge Music Association.
Reading and quilting were two of her favorite things to do in her spare time. Christine is left by a son, William Reid Maven, of East Rockhill Twp.; a daughter, Morgan Grace Maven, of East Rockhill Twp.; a brother, Russell Brown Darling III and his wife Susan, of Holland, PA; and a sister-in-law, Judy Becker-Darling, of Kennesaw, GA. Her mother and husband also survive her. One of her brothers, Frank A., had passed away before she did.
