James Cronin Obituary, Death Cause – James Clarence Cronin, who was 60 years old and a resident of Follansbee, West Virginia, died suddenly at his home on May 24, 2023. Jim was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on September 6th, 1962. He was the son of Florence (McMahon) Cronin, who resided in Beech Bottom, West Virginia, and the late Larry Cronin, who also predeceased him.
Jim graduated with an Associate of Science in Nursing from West Virginia Northern Community College in 1997. He was a registered nurse by profession. Over the course of more than 17 years, he was employed at Dixon Healthcare in Wintersville, Ohio in the capacity of RN Supervisor of the Day Shift. Jim enjoyed coffee, bowling, going on drives, and working in his garden. He will be most remembered for his deep affection for Star Trek and for all kinds of animals. Jim’s beloved dog, Schnitzel, passed away in the recent home fire, following in the footsteps of Jim’s deceased father.
Jim is survived by his two children, Sheala Cronin Dembe’le’ of Steubenville, Ohio, and Christopher Cronin and his companion, Cassandra Wikert of Wellsburg, West Virginia; his four grandchildren, Alashandra, Danielle, Denisovan, and Yasmina; his two siblings, Debra Hall and her husband, Steven of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Richard Cronin and his companion, Lauren Connors of South Dennis, Massachusetts; two nieces
On Thursday, June 1, 2023, the family and friends of the deceased will be welcomed at the Chambers Funeral Home in Wellsburg, West Virginia (304)737-3551 from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Dan Harry will officiate the service. After the service, the burial will take place in the Kadesh Chapel Cemetery in Beech Bottom, West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Beech Bottom Community Christian Church. These can be sent in care of the Chambers Funeral Home, which is located at 1030 Main Street in Wellsburg, West Virginia 26070.
