Gordon Gillott Obituary, Gordon Gillott Has Passed Away

Gordon Gillott Obituary, Death Cause – On Monday, June 5th, at 3:00 p.m., Joe’s funeral will be conducted at Valley Memorial Park and Crematorium, which is located at DE55 1BH. We regret to inform you that Gordon (Joe) Gillott, formerly the Club Secretary for Bridlington Town, passed away recently. It is with great sadness that we make this announcement. Gordon had been suffering from illness for a number of months ever since he was forced to give up his work as a secretary, which he had held for a number of years.

His peers in the Northern Counties East League and Northern Premier League, as well as the staff at both the East Riding County Football Association and the Football Association, held him in high regard. He was a Northern Counties East League and Northern Premier League legend. Even when management was making a hasty decision on what should be included in the team sheet, he handled his paperwork with the utmost attention to detail.

During this extremely trying time, our deepest condolences go out to Sue, who was his partner. Everyone at the club will grievously miss him because he was highly regarded there and was always willing to provide a helping hand to his fellow committee members, team managers, coaching staff, ground crew, as well as players and bar staff. He was a true gentleman of non-league football, a volunteer who was very loyal, trustworthy, and worked very hard. During his retirement, he devoted many hours to maintaining me and the club in good standing by doing the tasks of club administration and secretarial work.
