Dorothy Gray Obituary, Death Cause – At the age of 93, Dorothy I. Gray, a resident of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away at IU Health Arnett Hospital on Friday, May 26, 2023. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana, on April 26, 1930, to the late Orel Taylor and Wilhelmina (Siler) Taylor, her parents. She was one of 14 children and grew up in a huge, loving family. They were all very close. She was one of 18 students in the class of 1948 to graduate from Montmorenci High School, where she participated in the school’s cheerleading program. In Montmorenci, on the 4th of November in 1951, she tied the knot with Tracy H. Gray. He passed away on June 19, 2007, a day before she did. Dorothy’s employment at General Foods spanned a number of years.

Her siblings Marilyn Miller, Raymond (Barb) Taylor, and Larry Taylor, all of Lafayette, as well as Jack Taylor, of West Lafayette, are among those still living. Dorothy’s daughter Kelly Ward and her siblings Barbara Halsema, Fred Taylor, Harold Taylor, Thomas Taylor, Arthur Taylor, Carolyn King, Marvin Taylor, Bob Taylor, and Steven Taylor all passed away before her. Dorothy was the last of her family members to pass away. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the compassionate employees at Creasy Springs, the medical professionals at IU Health Arnett Hospital, and the nurses who provided Dorothy with hospice care for their outstanding care as she neared the end of her life.

Dorothy found great pleasure in the kitchen, particularly in baking, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was famous for baking some of the most delicious pies in the history of the world. Dorothy’s other favorite pastimes included collecting beanie babies, money, and figurines, as well as playing euchre and going to casinos with her sisters. Her children Randall A. (Michele) Gray of Tega Cay, South Carolina, and Tracy S. (Andy) Fristoe of Lafayette, as well as her daughter-in-law Gary Ward of Mulberry, Indiana, and eight grandkids, are among those who are still living.Emily Gray, Molly Ward, and Macy Ward, as well as Jake (Emily) Gray, Chelsea (Ariana) Fristoe, Cory Gray, Taylor (Giana) Fristoe, and Daniel (Kenzie) Gray. In addition to this, she leaves behind five great grandkids.
