David O’Sullivan Obituary, David O’Sullivan Has Passed Away

David O’Sullivan Obituary, Death Cause – This week, our hero and friend David ‘Sully’ O’Sullivan went on to play that great gig in the sky, and it is with a heavy heart that we share this news. We are devastated, but not nearly as much as his great wife Josephine, his mother Noleen, his daughter Chloe, and his closest grandchildren, all of whom he treasured, as well as his brothers and their families. Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of a loved one.

This is a sign of the selfless and giving souls that both of them possess. Since then, we have given approximately €70,000 to CAMEO Care, Jigsaw, and Loughtagalla Park due to the bands and a terrific squad. As a fervent supporter of universal human rights, Sully was also active in the local community with Amnesty International, where he coordinated local campaigns and organized concerts.

Sully was a legendary figure in Thurles, and many people knew about him. Crimson River is the band that most people will remember him from, since their performances have become the stuff of local history. He was a terrific songwriter and a brilliant frontman in the bands that he played with throughout the years. Sully pursued a solo career in the early 1990s and got concerts in The Baggot Inn, which was a big deal at the time.

However, opening on the main stage at Féile, Semple Stadium in 1991 offered him the most pride musically of anything he had done up until that point. Sully’s counsel and support to new and existing bands in Thurles was sought after and held in high regard, as seen by the large number of brilliant musicians with whom we are blessed and who each have a story to tell. It was Sully and his friend Josie who proposed we raise money for charity when we first established Féile Beag in 2015.
