Amanda Hicks Murder – A stunning woman named Amanda Scearce Hicks March 22, 1950 – March 24, 2023 Amanda Hicks, who had reached the age of 73 when she passed away on March 24, 2023, was welcomed into her heavenly home. She was born on March 22, 1950, in Danville, Virginia, to the late Mary Childress Scearce and the late Edward Lee Scearce Sr. Her parents both passed away before she was born. Both of her parents had already passed away before she was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and beloved husband of many years, Joel T. Hicks. Her grandchild, Justin Blohn Jr., also passed away before her. Amanda held the post of pastry chef at the Chatmoss Country Club, where she worked for a number of years prior to leaving her employment there. She was a dedicated member of the Women’s Missionary Union at the Sharon Baptist Church, which she attended regularly throughout her life.
In addition to that, she was an involved member of the Southside Virginia Head Injury Support Group as well as the Tunstall Homemakers group. Amanda is survived by her son, Kenny Reynolds (Candace) of Chesapeake, Virginia; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Hicks Fogel of Lexington, North Carolina; stepson, Robert Hicks (Megan) of Sparta, North Carolina; and five brothers, including John “Johnny” Scearce of Danville, Virginia, Edward L. Scearce Jr. (Lea) of South Carolina, James T. Scearce II (Wanda) of Chatham She was also survived by a sizable number of nieces, nephews, and other members of her extended family.
