Valerie Fales Obituary, Death, Funeral And Visitation

Valerie Fales Obituary, Death Cause – After a long and courageous fight against cancer that lasted seven months, Valerie Denise Fales, of Cadillac, died away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in her home with her husband at her side. She had reached the age of 65. In the city of Muskegon, Michigan, on July 22, 1957, Val Shearer was brought into the world by her parents, Jack and Mary (Green) Shearer. On September 18, 1980, in the town of Manton, the two of them wed and became husband and wife. The two had a fleeting romantic relationship as teenagers, and years later, when they were adults, they found themselves back in one other’s life. She received her high school diploma from Flint Northwestern and then continued her education as a mature student at Baker College.

Andrew Scott and Jamie Elaine are the names of both of Val and Chuck’s children. She and her close friend Mary Pals had an arts and crafts company together for a number of years that was very profitable. Beading, stitching, ironing (yup), and basket weaving were some of her favorite things to do in her leisure time. She also loved other types of creative pursuits. At one point in time, she hosted a large gathering of ladies in her house for the purpose of instructing them in the art of basket weaving. Collecting was one of Val’s many interests, but her specialty was vintage dolls and the clothes they wore. During the summer, she looked forward to seeing her friend Mari Featherston at the antique exhibits that were held in Allegan on a monthly basis. She might be observed tending to her flower garden in the backyard rather often.

Val enjoyed both reading and watching movies in his spare time. Above all else, she treasured the special people in her life, such as her devoted husband, with whom she had a lot of wonderful memories during their 42 years of marriage; her wonderful neighbors, who assisted Val and Chuck in getting through this difficult time; her close sisters, who would call her frequently to see how she was doing; her best friends, who would visit her and take her on special girls’ trips; and a special boy, Benjamin, who entered her life 13 years ago and quickly won her heart. Valerie is survived by her devoted husband, Chuck Fales, of Cadillac; her daughter, Jamie Fales of Houghton Lake; her sisters, Cherie Adams, Tracy (Steve) Malik, and Stephanie (John) Rice; her beloved niece, Jennifer Slegeski; her sister-in-laws Connie Fales and Julie (Kevin) Dodge; the many special friends that have helped her through this journey, “Yogurt” Mary Featherston, Terry Stroh, Kathy Cline
