Sheila Duane Obituary, Sheila Duane Has Passed Away

Sheila Duane Obituary, Death Cause – Sheila Marie Pomeroy, who was 72 years old and from Winona, passed away on January 23, 2022 at the residence of her son, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Richard and Dorothy (Dady) Carney and was born in Winona on June 21st, 1949. During her time at Winona Senior High, she developed romantic feelings for Duane Pomeroy. They tied the knot on September 3, 1967, and have had a lovely life together for the past 54 years.

Sheila spent 18 years working at Peerless Chain before deciding to make a pivot in her professional life and become a licensed nursing assistant and personal care attendant.
She spent her free time fishing, crocheting, and tending to her flower garden. Sheila and Duane’s shared passion for riding motorcycles was matched only by Sheila’s enthusiasm for spending time with her grandchildren. Sheila is survived by her husband, Duane; their children, Lisa Pomeroy and Shawn (Becca) Pomeroy; their grandchildren, Kara Pomeroy, Allie Pomeroy, Ashley Pomeroy.

Shawna Pomeroy, Kadin Ahler, Carly (Jake) Robinson, Ariana Leibried, Lex Leibried, Chase Pomeroy, Trevor Pomeroy, Onnah Pomeroy, and Alissa Orsten; their great-grand. Her parents, her daughter Tina, and her son Richard LaVern, who was still a baby, as well as her siblings Terry Payette, Julie Carney, and Steve Carney, all passed away before she did. On the Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 11 a.m., there will be a Celebration of Sheila’s Life held at the Hoff Celebration of Life Center. Her daughter-in-law Becca will preside over the ceremony. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue up until the time of the ceremony at 12:30 p.m.
