Phyllis Dickinson Obituary, Death Cause – Mrs. Phyllis Grace Mayberry Dickinson, age 74, of Danielsville, Georgia, died away at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Athens, Georgia, on Thursday, May 25, 2023, after a long and happy life. Mrs. Dickinson was born on January 17, 1949, in Opelika, Alabama. She is the daughter of Joseph Preston Mayberry, who passed away, and Frances Grace Mayberry, who also passed away. She held both a Registered Nurse and a Certified Hospice Nurse license, and she spent her most recent employment providing in-home nursing care for patients of VistaCare Hospice.

Both the Danielsville Evangelical Church in Danielsville, Georgia, and the New Mt. Zion Church of God Holiness in Royston, Georgia, welcomed her as a member at one time or another. Her parents were the ones who passed away before her, and her son Christopher Dickinson also passed away before her. Survivors include her husband, Lee Dickinson; daughter, Sherry Johnson; son James Hochstedler, Jr.; and grandchildren Edward Lester, Grace Hochstedler, and Rose Hochstedler.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dickinson will be place at Danielsville Evangelical Church on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Dwayne Dickerson and Elder Marvin Smith serving as co-officiants. Mrs. Dickinson passed away on May 30, 2023. After the service, interment will take place at the cemetery of the Danielsville Evangelical Church.
On Saturday afternoon, beginning an hour before the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., the family will greet friends at the church where the ceremony will be held until the time of the funeral. At other times, members of the family will be found inside the house.
