Glenda Everett Obituary, Death Cause – Ms. Glenda Everett was a fantastic educator who committed a significant portion of her life to working with students at Bowers Elementary. It is with great regret that we learned of her demise. Please remember her family in your prayers and keep them in your thoughts. After a protracted bout with sickness, Mrs. Glenda True Everett, who resided in Kingston, Tennessee, died away on Monday, May 22, 2023, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the daughter of Margaret and Allen H. True, both of whom had passed away before she was born on June 11, 1943.
Glenda was a much-loved educator who served the Harriman community as a teacher at the Bowers Elementary School for 37 years. In addition to that, she served as the principal of Bowers Elementary School for a number of years. She is survived by her husband, Robert Buttram; her cherished daughter, Jennifer Vandever; her brother, Tommy H. True (Kay); and her nieces, Lisa and Tayler Bonafede, all of Kingston, Tennessee. She is also survived by her step-daughter Julie Shaver and her family, including her husband Scott Shaver and their kids Owen and Finn, both of Nashville, Tennessee; in addition, she leaves behind an uncle and a number of relatives.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Elizabeth Bunch, April Bunch, and Sue Givens, Glenda’s caregivers who provided her with compassionate care over the course of many years. A thank you also goes out to the Covenant Health Hospice.
