Gabby Petito Obituary, Death Cause – The parents of Gabby Petito now have a copy of a letter written by Brian Laundrie’s mother to her son. In the letter, she mentions fetching a shovel and burying a body. The letter was sent to Gabby Petito’s parents. Wednesday in a courthouse located in Sarasota County, Florida, attorneys for both parties debated the issue of whether or not the letter should be considered relevant to the lawsuit that Gabby Petito’s parents have filed against Laundrie’s parents and the Laundries’ previous attorney.
The Petitos filed a lawsuit against the Laundries for emotional anguish in connection with Gabby Petito’s passing away while she was in the company of Brian Laundrie, her fiancé, in the Western United States. Laundrie returned without Petito from their trip, and she was not seen or heard from again some weeks later. In September of 2021, the skeletal remains of Gabby Petito were discovered in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming.
Her death was determined to have been the result of a homicide caused by strangling by hand. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Brian Laundrie wrote in a notebook that he was responsible for her killing before taking his own life. The following month, his skeletal remains were discovered in a preserve in North Port, Florida, not too far from where his parents lived. The attorney for the Petito family, Patrick Reilly, stated in court on Wednesday that the letter “references burying a body, bringing a shovel, and burying a body.” “As we all know, the letter references burying a body,” “By the way, Roberta Laundrie has admitted that she would engage in illegal behavior if given the opportunity,”. The letter that Brian Laundrie’s mother wrote him instructing him to “burn after reading” is given to Gabby Petito’s parents.
