Bridgewater MA Murder – Bridgewater MA Murder, Woman Killed By Neighbor. A man from Bridgewater, Massachusetts, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his 58-year-old neighbor, who authorities claim was visiting his home at the time of the incident. She was confirmed dead when she arrived at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after being taken there.
According to the prosecution, Moreira called his son, who then reportedly called the police. Moreira was reportedly found inside the suspect’s home covered in blood, while Oakhem was discovered inside the suspect’s kitchen with significant head damage. The police arrived shortly after. The prosecution claims that detectives discovered a hammer that had blood and hair on it. According to the investigators, this did not appear to be a random act of violence but rather a targeted one.
On Friday, the family of the victim confronted Moreira in court with their anger over the incident. According to the Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz, the suspect, 69-year-old Dinis Moreira of Bridgewater, has entered a plea of not guilty to the charge that he was responsible for the murder of his neighbor. Cruz claims that the only way Moreira could have killed Oakhem was with a hammer. Both Moreira and Oakhem called Spring Street their home, yet they did not share a wall with one another.
Oakhem had gone to Moreira’s house on Thursday evening to have a drink of wine, according to the statements that the prosecutors made in court. She was then severely attacked. Upon arrival, they discovered Valerie Oakhem inside the residence suffering from severe injuries to her head and face.
