Timothy Eugene Glover Obituary, Death Cause –  We are very sorry to inform you that Timothy Eugene Glover, a former officer with the Haines City Police Department, passed away today. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time. Glover, who made headlines across the country after writing himself a ticket for running a red light that was caught on camera, served the community with diligence from October 1, 2014 until his retirement on March 26, 2020.

Officer Glover, who has the badge number 888 and currently works for the Haines City Police Department, spent the majority of his law enforcement career with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, where he worked his way up through the ranks to become a supervisor. Officer Glover is now employed by the Haines City Police Department.

He was a Traffic Safety Officer in the Patrol Division in Haines City, where he served and excelled during his tenure there. He gave our police department his utmost professionalism and undivided attention, which was nothing less than what was expected of him. While he was employed at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Greg Goreck was afforded the opportunity to collaborate with him. Both of Chief Goreck’s daughters and his own sent their children to the same school. “Tim (Officer Glover) was a kind-hearted individual, and his unwavering commitment to the residents of Haines City and Polk County alike is a true example of what it means to be an honest public servant,” stated Chief Goreck. “Tim” refers to Officer Glover, who was killed in the line of duty. His passing will leave a gaping hole in our hearts, but the thriving community that he committed his life to helping will carry on in his honor long after he is gone.
