Karen Hillis Obituary, Resident Of Speaker Township Has Died

Karen Hillis Obituary, Death Cause  Karen Marie Hillis, 56 years old and from Speaker Township, passed away in Port Huron Hospital. She was a resident of Speaker Township. She was born on September 18th, 1966 in the city of Detroit to her parents, Marvin and Mary (Vallie) Johnson. She was the only child of her parents. She tied the knot with Brian Hillis on June 10th, 2016, in Smiths Creek. The wedding went off without a hitch  McLaren On May 17, 2023, In 1985, Karen earned her high school graduation from Yale, where she had attended previously.

As a continuation of her education, she attended Baker College the next year (2009) and earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from that institution. Canoeing, kayaking, and camping brought her the most joy, but she was happiest when she was outside in nature. The time she got to spend with her grandkids and her grandchildren themselves were her most favorite things in the entire world. Over the course of her career at Bankers Life, Karen held the position of Medicaid Specialist. She was there for more than five years.

Being of assistance to other people brought her a great deal of personal satisfaction. She is survived by her husband of six years, Brian; her mother, Mary Johnson of Emmett; her three children, Emily (Chastin) Keegan of Emmett, DJ (Yvette) Mitch of Colorado, and Joe Mitch of Yale; her seven siblings, Marvin Johnson of Detroit, Michael (Holly) Johnson of Croswell, Cathy (John) Paling of Emmett, Mary (Tom) Thorton of St. Clair, Rob (Lori) ThortHer father, Marvin Johnson, had already passed away before she was born, thus she was unable to spend any more time with him.
