Jimmy Parkinson Obituary, Death Cause – James Melvin Parkinson, who was 83 years old and had been a resident of Blackfoot, Idaho throughout his life, passed away on March 11, 2021 in the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello. James Parkinson was brought into the world on October 16, 1937, in Pocatello, Idaho, by his parents, Ray Parkinson and Lexie Virginia Sundstrum Parkinson. James Parkinson was named after his grandfather.

Since he had spent his entire childhood in Blackfoot, the brand new Blackfoot High School building was where he attended classes and graduated with his class. He was the second graduate of the school. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a member of the military police both in France and England. After completing his obligation, he went back to his home.

On November 4, 1960, Jim married LaVerne Ellen Harris in Springfield, Idaho. After that, the Idaho Falls Temple preformed the rite to permanently seal them in their new status. He worked at Basic American Foods for the entirety of his 33-year career, the vast majority of which was spent in the manufacturing facility that was located in Moses Lake, Washington. In addition to that, he maintained a home in both Pingree and Tyhee.

Jim was a devoted adherent of the Latter-day Saint religion, also known as The Church of Jesus Christ. This faith is also known as the Mormon faith. During his time as a member of the LDS Church, he was responsible for a number of responsibilities, including those of Branch President, High Councilor, and Bishop of the Moses Lake 3rd Ward. He enjoyed activities such as repairing furniture, putting together puzzles, and doing cross-stitch, and he took great pride in following the sporting endeavors of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
