Frederick Bacon Obituary, Death Cause – The body of Fredrick Bacon, 79 years old, who had been reported missing was found along the edge of a pond early on Friday morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. Bacon had been reported missing earlier in the week. In a prior interview with 10 Tampa Bay, members of Bacon’s family revealed that the deceased was a veteran, as stated by their statements. Bacon wasn’t seen since the previous evening, on May 16, therefore his disappearance wasn’t reported until the next day, on May 17.
Bacon was found, according to the officials, in a rather close proximity to the spot where he had been seen the last time. It is believed that an accident led to his passing, while the investigation into his death is still underway at this time. According to Deshala Dixon Murray, Bacon’s daughter, it was impossible to locate her father because he did not own a car and did not have any credit cards. Additionally, Bacon did not have a telephone. She mentioned that he was also afflicted with dementia in her statement.
His family has informed us that Bacon graduated from Morehouse College in 1966 and went on to become one of the first Black men to earn a Ph.D. in physics from Berkeley University. This information was provided by Bacon’s family. After spending some time as one of the first Black engineers hired by the organization 3M, he went on to continue his career as an educator. During his time at 3M, he was one of the first Black engineers hired by the company.
