After that, he went on to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, during which time he was assigned to several locations around the states of California and Nevada. After that, on the 13th of December in 1963, they went to the temple in Logan, Utah, to get married and have their marriage sealed there. This took place in the temple. A daughter was born on February 3, 1965, but she was taken from this world before she could celebrate her first birthday. Her name was Jan. Adoption was the means by which Jolene was ultimately incorporated into the family. After Lorin’s friend Janoice passed away in 1967, she went to a dance and met Dilean Kofoed there.
They were close friends after that. Following that, on July 19, 1967, they traveled to the Logan Temple to get married and have their marriage sealed there. This took place at the temple. They started their life together in the rural community of Whitney, Idaho, which is located in the state of Idaho. They ultimately ended up settling down in Hyrum, Utah, and it was there on a dairy farm that they brought up all seven of their children. In addition, Lorin worked at Schriebers in Amalga, Utah, where she was employed for the entirety of her career up until the point at which she retired. He was very active in the church and served in a variety of various ways during his life there.
He took pleasure in spending time with his family engaging in activities such as four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, camping, and traveling on family vacations. Spending quality time with each of his grandchildren and enlightening them on the ins and outs of the family farm was something that brought Loring a great deal of joy. He is survived by his children Deann Torrence, who resides in Logan, Utah; Doug Burnett, who is married to Tammy and lives in Pleasant View, Utah; and
Jolene Thalman of Logan, Utah; Audra (Justin) Didericksen of Paradise, Utah; Karen Burnett of Brigham City, Utah; Candice (Blake) Nyquist of Avon, Utah; and 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. His first and second wives, Janoice and Dilean, as well as his daughter Jan, his parents, three of his siblings, one of his great-grandchildren, and his in-laws all predeceased him. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
