Kyle Osgood Obituary, Death Cause – Farmland Fire Department member Kyle Osgood passed away while fulfilling his responsibilities, and the Randolph County 9-1-1 Center is inconsolable over the news of his passing. Kyle, now 29 years old, was employed by our company on a full-time basis as a Public Safety Telecommunicator beginning in July 2015 and continuing until October 2019. In addition to his responsibilities as the supervisor of the third shift, Kyle held the position of communications training officer.
As a result of Kyle’s decision to pursue employment opportunities in the private sector, he was required to resign from his position here. As a passenger in a Farmland fire engine that flipped over this morning, Kyle tragically lost his life as a result of the accident. Farmland Fire Department put Kyle in charge of operations and promoted him to assistant chief.
We are keeping Darby, Kyle’s wife, and their child, as well as the Osgood family and the family at the Farmland Fire Department, in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Our various social media platforms will be updated as soon as any new information is obtained by us concerning the funeral and burial arrangements, as well as any additional memorial services or honors that are being planned in Kyle’s honor. In addition, our thoughts and prayers are with firefighter Zachary Lee and his family during this difficult time. Lee, who was also involved in the incident in which Osgood was hurt, was taken to a hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment of the injuries he sustained in the accident. The incident has been reported to the Pendleton Post of the Indiana State Police, which is conducting an investigation.
