James Mixon Obituary, Death Cause – Two vehicles were involved in a collision that occurred on Monday afternoon in Union Township between the communities of Saunemin and Dwight. The collision took place in the middle of the township. It was established at the scene of the collision that a man from Dwight had unfortunately passed away as a result of the accident.
According to a press statement that was released by the office of the Livingston County Coroner, James Lee Mixon, 62, of Dwight, was reportedly killed when his 2014 Chevrolet Utility Vehicle collided with another vehicle at the crossroads of Illinois Route 47 and County Road 2300 North in Union Township. According to reports, the collision occurred in Union Township, which was given as the location of the incident. The news release did not include any information about the second vehicle that was involved in the accident, including what kind of vehicle it was or whether the driver of that vehicle suffered any injuries. It was said that there was a fire, and dental records were used in order to identify Mr. Mixon using the evidence that was acquired after the fire. This evidence was used to identify Mr. Mixon.
The autopsy has been given the go-ahead after being given the order by Coroner Danny Watson. Investigations into the incident are still being carried out by multiple authorities, including the Reconstruction Unit of the Illinois State Police, the Officers of Troop 5, and the Livingston County Coroner’s Office. Help was offered to those who required it at the scene of the incident by firefighters from Saunemin, Odell, Pontiac, Cullom, and Campus, as well as responders from SELCAS, EMS, and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
