Carla L. Melland Obituary, Death Cause – She was born in Aurora, Illinois on November 1st, 1971 to her parents, Alice and Jerry Nelson. She received her education and grew up in the same city. She is the devoted wife of Glen Melland, to whom she has been married for the past 14 years; the doting mother of Nichol Melland and Dennis Melland (Nely); the cherished daughter of Alice and Jerry Nelson; the dear sister of Cheryl Jungels.

Craig Nelson (Cora), and Eric Nelson; the cherished daughter-in-law of Beverly Melland; and the sister-in-law of Christie Savoy. Along with her devoted canine pals Dexter, Niko, Tilly, and Rhonda, she will be greatly mourned by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carla was an employee at Sound Investment Group, where she spent many years having fun with her co-workers and aiding a large number of customers in accomplishing their financial objectives.

Carla was a remarkable artist who, despite her many talents, never boasted about them. She never made a big deal out of her wonderful sketches and paintings, which was a reflection of the compassionate and unselfish nature of her character. She never put herself before of others. Those who loved her will never forget her gentle nature and infectious laugh. Their memories will last a lifetime.

Carla’s family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home located at 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) in Joliet. The rites of cremation have been carried out in accordance with Carla’s wishes.
