LA Costa Canyon High School Lockdown, Police Investigates Threat
LA Costa Canyon High School Lockdown – Lockdown has been implemented at LA Costa Canyon High School while the police investigate a threat. While we were investigating a threat that had been reported at La Costa Canyon High School, the school was placed on lockdown as an abundance of caution. After a threat was discovered in the girls bathroom, the in-person classes at La Costa Canyon were canceled.
Due to the discovery of threatening language in the girls’ restroom on Friday, students at La Costa Canyon High School will not report to campus for the start of the school day. According to a statement that was distributed by the district late on Thursday night, on December 2 at 2:00 p.m., a parent told the school that their student had seen the language targeting the school community scrawled on the wall in the ladies bathroom of the 700 building. The statement was given out by the district.
Due to the nature of the communication, the Carlsbad School District immediately reached out to the Carlsbad Police Department (CPD) for assistance, according to the Superintendent, Cheryl James Ward. On Friday, December 3, students will attend class at the same time as their instructors so that both they and their instructors can be secure. During the course of the school day, CPD will also conduct additional patrols and provide additional support on campus.
The San Dieguito Union High School District places a high premium on the protection of its students and faculty. According to Ward, “every school has a safety plan and practices going into lockdown whenever there is a threat.” “Parents should have conversations with their children about the importance of staying vigilant and encouraging their children to report any threats to an adult who is responsible, just as was done in this situation,”
