Kathy Purvis Obituary, Kathy Purvis Has Passed Away

Kathy Purvis Obituary, Death Cause – We regret to inform you that our beloved member, Kathy Purvis, passed away early on the morning of May 21, 2023. Her departure comes with our deepest condolences. Kathy Purvis was a fantastic member of our Chinese Language Teachers Association. She made substantial contributions to the area of education as a result of her steadfast dedication to the teaching profession and her willingness to put others before herself.

Those of our fellow educators who are interested in attending the funeral can get in touch with Ms. Jin (or the CLTASA) personally. Ms. Jin recommends that there be approximately 5 people participating in the event. If there are any educators who are unable to make it to the memorial service but would still like to offer their condolences through a message, they can submit it to me, and I will do my best to communicate everyone else’s sorrow in a card.

Her departure is a devastating blow to the whole Chinese education community, and we will always value the insight she provided and the contributions she made to education without expecting anything in return. As soon as Ms. Lihua Jin (Jenny) learned the news, she got in touch with the CLTASA as soon as possible and began making plans with Kathy’s family for the funeral as well as other matters: On June 7th, at 10:45 am, the funeral service for Kathy will take held in the Mawson Chapel in Centennial Park.

The decision to postpone the 2023 Mandarin Mixer, SA Teachers of Chinese Social Evening that was made unanimously by the CLTASA Committee members last night was to postpone the event that was set for June 9th. Instead, we will arrange a memorial gathering during the week of the funeral to bring together all of the instructors so that we can celebrate Kathy’s life and pay our respects to her memory.
