Braswell High School Lockdown, Police Investigates Case

Braswell High School Lockdown – The Braswell High School campus is currently on lockdown as the police investigate the case. The entire lockdown procedure took less than half an hour to complete. We want to reassure you that the wellbeing of our staff members and kids is of the utmost priority at all times, and that nobody’s safety was ever in jeopardy at any point during today’s school day. We had a one-on-one conversation with the student who was involved, during which we gathered information and reiterated that items of this nature are not permitted on campus.

The purpose of this event is to serve as a friendly reminder to you and your children that the school takes any and all potential threats to the safety of its students and staff very seriously We want to make sure that you are aware of everything that is happening on or around our campus, therefore we wanted to let you know that the Little Elm Police Department ordered our campus to be placed on lockdown at approximately 12:05 p.m. today. This was done in accordance with our attempts to keep you updated.

Someone informed us that one of the students had brought a “toy gun” to the school. As soon as this information became available, the Little Elm Police Department and our School Resource Officer (SRO) were both promptly alerted, and an in-depth investigation was started as soon as it was possible. The student who was discovered as having possessed the “toy gun” had it taken away, and that student will be held accountable for serious offenses in accordance with our Student Code of Conduct.
