Anna Burtchaell Obituary, Death Cause – On May 24, 2023, the resident of Carrollton known as Ms. Anna Vivienne (Chesnut) Burtchaell passed away at the age of 80. The 12th of March in 1943 found her entering the world in Jackson, Mississippi. Anna Grimaldi was the daughter of the late Francesca (Piombino) and Albert Grimaldi, both of whom passed away before Anna was born in Worcester. She moved to Rutland six years ago after having spent the previous decade bringing up her family in Holden.
Anna was forced to resign owing to her health after working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for many years. She began her career in the Administration department of the University of Massachusetts, then moved to the Worcester State Hospital, and finally retired from there. Anna is survived by her two sons, Dillon A. and Christian P. Brigley of Holden; her partner, Joseph Hamilton with whom she lived; her father, Albert Grimaldi of Worcester; two brothers, Francensco Grimaldi of Rutland and Albert Grimaldi of Worcester.
A sister, Christina McAuliffe of Holden; her beloved pet, Peanut; her former husband and best friend, Denny Brigley; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Anna has a tremendous love and concern for her children and family. They were always given precedence in her family, and she cherished the times she got to spend with them the most. She delighted in activities such as visiting Disney World, watching comedies from the 1970s, going out to dinner and the movies with her husband Joe, and savoring the unique moments she shared with her children. Her warm spirit, beaming smile, and kind soul will be sorely missed by all.
