Alan Julius Obituary, Death Cause – Alan Michael Julius The date range of October 9, 1991 to May 14, 2023 Alan Michael Julius was the first child and oldest son to be born to Eugene and Diane (Frakes) Julius. He was born on October 9, 1991. He was fondly referred to as Randy during his time at Newman Catholic High School, which he attended after having spent his childhood in Mason City.

Alan participated in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities during his time at Newman, including football, basketball, baseball, and track. Alan was a member of the class of 2010 that graduated from Newman Catholic High School. At Newman, he was most well-known for the fact that, as a freshman in 2007, he completed a whole marathon on a dare issued by a fellow student.

This accomplishment took place behind his parents’ and school administrators’ backs. He ran 105 laps around the school track in a total of 4 minutes and 25 seconds, and when he crossed the finish line, there was a stadium full of students and teachers shouting for him. His training lasted less than a week. After graduating from high school, Alan continued his education at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he majored in pre-medicine and received his Magna Cum Laude degree in biology in 2014.

After that, he continued his education at Des Moines University, where he majored in osteopathic medicine. Dr. Julius finished his residency in family medicine at Genesis Medical Center, which was sponsored by the University of Iowa. During his third year of residency, he was chosen Chief Resident at the University of Iowa. Following that, he obtained a position as a hospitalist at the Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.

Dr. Julius was a popular not only among patients but also among staff members. His coworkers referred to him as a “nurse’s doctor” because he respected his colleagues and was ready to hear what they had to say about how they were feeling. Quickly gaining a reputation for patient advocacy, comfort, and care among his patients, he did a good job of taking care of them. Everyone in the Genesis community will mourn his passing in their own unique ways.

Alan had a deep appreciation for nature, and some of his most memorable days were spent outdoors fishing or hunting. Alan won the Iowa Pro-Am Archery Championship four times and the National Field Archery Association Indoor Championship twice between the years of 2002 and 2003. His scoring record was 600/600 with 119/120 Xs.

He participated in football all throughout high school and had a bright future ahead of him before suffering an injury that ended his playing career while he was attending Augustana University. As a student assistant football coach for the team, he stayed involved with the group and maintained his passion for the sport.
